Houston, TX (Sports Network) - New York Mets third baseman David Wright left Wednesday's game in Houston in the top of the 12th inning with an undisclosed injury. Wright singled with two outs and was limping noticeably upon arriving at first base. Manager Jerry Manuel and the team trainer came out to look at Wright and then decided to remove him from the game. Mike Hessman entered the game as a pinch-runner for Wright and stayed in to play at third base in the bottom of the frame.

Houston, TX (Sports Network) - The New York Mets signed right-handed pitcher Matt Harvey, the seventh overall pick from this year's draft. The 21-year-old Harvey was 8-3 with a 3.09 ERA in 14 games this year with the University of North Carolina. In 96 innings, the junior allowed 80 hits, 42 runs -- 33 earned -- with 35 walks and 102 strikeouts. He held opponents to a .224 batting average. Harvey was 22-7 with 3.73 ERA in 54 games during his three years with the Tar Heels.
